Refund Policy

Last updated: April 14, 2026

The short version

You're never locked in. Cancel your subscription any time and keep access through the end of the current billing period. If the agent broke on something you actually paid for, we'll refund the charge — even the full month if the outage materially affected you. We'd rather issue a refund than have you feel cheated.

How to cancel

Open the Settings page inside ClawVault and click Manage billing. You'll land in the Stripe customer portal where you can cancel, downgrade, or update payment methods in one click. Your subscription stays active until the end of the current billing period, then stops renewing. Vault contents remain intact — the agent is what switches off.

Mid-cycle refunds

We don't pro-rate mid-cycle refunds by default. If you cancel on day 20 of a 30-day cycle, you keep access for the remaining 10 days but we don't refund the unused portion. This is the standard SaaS practice and keeps pricing predictable.

That said — if you're cancelling because something's wrong, tell us via [email protected]. We're not in the business of extracting the last cent from someone who isn't happy.

If the agent broke

When we break, we pay. The cases we refund for are:

  • Material downtime. If the backend or the agent gateway was unreachable for a chunk of your billing month that noticeably affected your workflow, we credit you for the lost days.
  • The agent ran but produced garbage on a task that should work. If you paid a monthly plan to automate something in our supported set (form-fill, credential login, subscription cancel, email triage) and the agent consistently failed, we refund the relevant billing period.
  • Charge you didn't authorise. If somehow you see a charge you can't account for, email us first and we'll sort it out before you have to involve your bank.

Disputes and chargebacks

Please contact us first via [email protected] before initiating a chargeback with your bank. Chargebacks are slow, painful for everyone, and cost us $15 in fees regardless of the outcome. We commit to responding to refund requests within 3 business days.

Plans and pricing

ClawVault offers three paid tiers: Personal at $9/mo, Family at $19/mo (6 seats — 1 owner plus up to 5 invited members, sharing a pooled token budget), and Pro at $39/mo. Every tier carries the same refund policy above. Annual billing is not offered today — the monthly cadence keeps this simple and lets you leave on any cycle boundary without prepayment stuck in the middle.

Service-level expectations

For paid plans, "material downtime" eligible for a credit means either > 4 consecutive hours of backend or agent-gateway unavailability in a billing month, or > 1% cumulative monthly unavailability, measured from our operational logs. If neither threshold is hit but something still felt broken on your end, email us anyway — we'd rather credit a judgment call than have you feel cheated.

Token packs

One-time token packs are non-refundable once the tokens land in your balance unless they were purchased in error (duplicate purchase, wrong plan). Unused tokens expire 12 months after purchase.

If ClawVault shuts down

Unlikely scenario, but: if we ever wind down the service entirely, every active subscriber gets a pro-rated refund for the unused portion of their billing period. You'd also get a 30-day export window to download your vault as encrypted JSON before anything is deleted.
